MOCATalks Presents The Stonewall Operas

These four brand-new 30-minute Stonewall-inspired operas are written and composed by alums of Tisch’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, as part of the Advanced Opera Lab led by Randall Eng, Associate Arts Professor of Graduate Musical Theatre Writing, and Sam Helfrich, Associate Arts Professor of Design for Stage & Film (both Tisch School of the Arts). The operas are designed by students from the Dance Department (both Tisch School of the Arts), directed by students from the New School, and performed by professional opera singers from American Opera Projects.

Join us as we celebrate Pride Month with an intimate chat with Anita Lo about her incredible career as a proud gay Chinese-American chef. Anita, who has inspired a generation of young Asian chefs, will talk about her experience as a successful chef and restaurateur. She will also demo a delicious recipe, Cauliflower Chaat with Almonds, from her new book Solo: A Modern Cookbook for a Party of One.
MOCA Music and Mic Night

Join us for an evening of FREE music, songs, and stand-up comedy, as we invite the public inside our temporary music exhibition “The Moon Represents My Heart” for a curated live performance featuring emerging talent from the community.
The Museum hosts Mic night monthly throughout the summer, but June’s show will feature only LGBTQIA+ performers in honor of WorldPride.
