Gay historian Professor Andrew Lear founded Oscar Wilde Tours to reveal the secret LGBT+ history that is hiding in plain sight in the world’s great cities and museums. On the Gay Secrets tour of the Metropolitan Museum, Professor Lear will show you how same-sex love of various kinds is referenced in the Metropolitan Museum’s masterpieces, from ancient Greek statues to Picasso’s Gertrude Stein. We will explore a number of cultures and examine both well-known works by artists such as Caravaggio and relatively unknown works such as bis-poles from New Guinea. This tour will show you that world history and world art are much gayer (or even gayer) than you ever thought!

Check out Oscar Wilde Tours’ website for information about other gay secrets tours, in NYC, Boston, and Europe (including this year Berlin, Amsterdam, Italy, and Greece).
